A/Professor Kathy Wu
Clinical Geneticist | MBBS, FRACP, PhD, HGSA Certified
A/Professor Kathy Wu is a Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA)–certified clinical geneticist with over two decades of experience in clinical genomics and medical research. She is the founding Head of St Vincent’s Clinical Genomics and has led the service since its establishment in 2016.
Kathy played a central role in launching the first clinical whole genome sequencing (WGS) service in the Southern Hemisphere, creating a highly integrated model that combines clinical care with research, education and training. Her work has been guided by a strong commitment to bioethics and patient-centred innovation in genomic medicine.
In addition to her clinical leadership, Kathy is actively involved in education and research, and continues to contribute to the advancement of genomics in healthcare through national and international collaborations.
